MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Pole vaulters Tiara Davis and Katie Wright both finished in the top five to highlight the weekend for the NSU women's track team at the Shamrock Invitational hosted by Coastal Carolina University.

At the team's first meet of the outdoor season, Davis and Wright both cleared a top height of 10 feet, 6 inches. Davis placed second based on fewer misses, while Wright was third.

On the track, two of NSU's three relay teams finished in the top 15 in their respective races. The 4x200 meter relay team of Champagne Bell, Torie Cunningham, Shanneka Claiborne and Rayiana Johnson placed 11th in 1 minute, 42.18 seconds. The quartet of Bell, Cunningham, Kaydianne McKenzie and Venus Whitties clocked a time of 48.28 seconds to place 14th in the 4x100 relay.

The Spartans will be idle this weekend before returning to the track at the Raleigh Relays on March 30-31.
