PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The Norfolk State University men's cross country team started the season on a strong note picking up a top-ten overall finish at the UMES Lid-Lifter Invitational at the UMES Cross Country Course on Saturday.
The Spartans placed fourth as a team. Jerome Scurry led all NSU runners placing sixth with a time of 19:18. Devin Booker placed 11th running a time of 20:22. Quentin Parker (22:24), junior Kenneth Smith (23:22), and Erick Green (27:22) had the next best finishes for the Spartans placing 15th, 20th, and 23rd.
NSU will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the UMES Cappy Anderson Invitational at the UMES Cross Country Course in Princess Anne, Md.
