NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State forward Rachel Gordon earned Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday. This is the third time this season that Gordon has been named Defensive Player of the Week.

Gordon tallied 19 points, 12 rebounds and one blocked shot in the 54-51 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Feb. 11. She shot 53.33 (8-of-15) percent from the field and 75 (3-of-4) percent from the line.

NSU returns to the courts on Monday night when they face the Hampton Lady Pirates at the Convocation Center in Hampton, Va. The game begins at 4:30 p.m. and will be televised live on ESPNU.
