NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team returns to action on Wednesday to face NJIT.
NSU (5-4, 3-1) defeated Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman at the MEAC Southern Division Roundup last week. Sophomore Dzmitry Zyhmantovich won his sixth straight singles match as he posted 6-1, 6-1 victory over B-CU's Santiago Lobelo in the No. 1 position.
NJIT (8-4) is coming off of a 7-0 win against St. Bonaventure on March 9 at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility in Newark, N.J. Lone senior Holger Norregaard picked up a pair of wins for the Highlanders. He teamed up with Markus Schultz for an 8-3 win in the No. 2 doubles position. Norregaard also competed at the No. 2 singles spot, where he defeated Elliott Fanshel, 7-5, 6-1.
Play begins at 12 p.m. at the Everett Tennis Center on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan in Norfolk, Va.
