NSU nearly knocked off the first-place Wildcats thanks to that early lead in the last matchup of the MEAC Southern Division Round-Up. The Spartans won both the No. 1 and 3 doubles matches by identical 8-4 scores.

Senior Domnik Pascal and freshman Antonio Pejic defeated Alexander Chepik and Alvaro Barrera at the top spot. Seniors Igor Braga and Daniel Grauel won by the same margin against Gilbert Rotich and Diego Garavito at the third position.

NSU also nearly won at the fourth singles position. Grauel fell in the first set against Greg Almedia, 6-1, before he won the second, 6-3. Almeida, though, rebounded to win the third set and the match, 6-3.
