RICHMOND, Va. – Junior
Jazmine Vaughan continued her strong start to the outdoor track and field season with a pair of top-10 finishes for the Spartan women at the Fred Hardy Invitational hosted by the University of Richmond last weekend.

In less-than-ideal conditions, Vaughan was third in the 100 meter hurdles in 15.06 seconds. She also placed sixth in the 400 hurdles in 1 minutes, 5.35 seconds, her first time running that event this season.

Junior
Rachel Webb also ran well, leading a trio of Spartans who placed in the top 10 in the 5,000 meters. Webb crossed the line in fifth place (18:26.61), followed by
Fawzia Kheir in sixth (18:38.92) and
Adugna Desalegn in ninth (18:51.90)

The field athletes were led by
Kiara Howell's sixth-place finish in the shot put (40 feet, 3.25 inches) and pole vaulters
Te'Shaibrah Myles and
Tiara Davis, who were seventh and eighth, respectively. Both cleared 10 feet.

The Spartans will be back in action at the Colonial Relays in Williamsburg this weekend.
