Meet ResultsHAMPTON, Va. – The Norfolk State women's track team registered 11 top-five finishes, led by
Brianna Hayes' win in the high jump and
Tasia Baxter's victory in the pole vault, at a rare mid-week tri-meet hosted by Hampton University at the Boo Williams Sportsplex on Wednesday night.
Hayes cleared a season-best 5 feet, 6 inches to record one of two victories for NSU in the meet, which also included Hampton and VCU. The other victory was registered by Baxter, who cleared 10 feet, 6 inches in the pole vault for her first event title of the year.
Elsewhere on the track, freshman
Tyrika Lee registered a season-best in the 60m for the second straight meet. She clocked a time of 7.67 seconds to place second. That lowered her season best from last week's Penn State Relays by .01.
Junior
Nickheila Johnson earned two second-place finishes, in the 300m (40.07) and 500m (1:15.70). Senior
