ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Freshman
Flavian Fernandez won both his singles and doubles matches during a 6-1 loss to Navy on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference matchup moved indoors to the Tose Family Tennis Center.

Fernandez won at No. 1 doubles and No. 5 singles in the setback, which dropped NSU to 6-13 overall. The Midshipmen moved to 14-7 on the season.

At the top doubles position, Fernandez and freshman
Benedikt Henning topped the Navy duo of Andrey Majkic and Aries Wong by a 6-4 margin. Facing Parker Hayslett at the fifth singles position, Fernandez pulled out a 7-5, 6-2 victory.

NSU default at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles, and Navy won the doubles point after winning the second slot. Krishna Jana and Walker Sims earned a 6-2 victory over NSU sophomores
Antonio Pejic and
Fatehdeep Singh.

Dan Dumitrascu battled Jana in a tight match at the second singles slot, dropping a pair of tiebreakers in both sets. In the first, Jana won 7-3 in the tiebreaker to win 7-6. He won the second set by the same score after taking that tiebreaker, 7-4.

Austin Jones got the win at the top spot in the lineup, downing Henning by a 6-4, 6-4 margin. In the other two matchups, Wong defeated Pejic at No. 3 singles, 6-4 and 6-0, while Sims earned a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Singh at the fourth position.
