Series History
The Spartans will look to make it 10 in a row over Coppin State, as the Eagles have not beaten NSU since a wild 87-82 victory in Norfolk on Jan. 30, 2012. Winners of 15 of the last 17 against CSU, the Spartans now lead the all-time series, 28-11.
Scouting Coppin State
The Eagles stand 0-15 on the year after facing a very difficult non-conference schedule, one highlighted by just two home games and numerous money games against high-level schools. As a result, the Eagles have been outscored on average by 23 points per game. They score just 53.5 while shooting 33 percent overall and 28.5 percent from 3-point range. Karonn Davis leads the way with 9.3 points per game, with Lamar Morgan adding 8.6 points and 4.9 rebounds. Tre' Thomas (6.9 points) and Adam Traore (6.8 points, 6.0 rebounds) are two more names to watch out for. Even though they don't get to the free throw line too often, the Eagles do make 75 percent of their shots when they do. CSU has also been outrebounded by 14 boards per game, although despite the daudy schedule, they have only turned it over 14 times per contest.
