NORFOLK, Va. – Beginning on July 1, season ticket holders and members of the NSU Athletics Foundation will be able to make tailgating reservations for the 2019 Norfolk State football season. Non-season ticket holders can purchase tailgating spots beginning on July 16.
The cost of one tailgating space for season ticket holders only is $100 for a single game, excluding Homecoming, or $450 for a season pass for all five home games this year. The season pass equals a savings of $50 off the collective game-by-game cost. Cost of a single-game tailgating space for Homecoming on Nov. 2 is $150.
Both single-game and season passes include access for one vehicle parking space. Each season ticket holder is limited to one tailgating space.
Cost of a tailgating space for non-season ticket holders is $125 for a single game, excluding Homecoming, or $575 for a season pass. The season pass for non-season ticket holders equals a savings of $50 off the collective game-by-game cost. Cost of a single-game tailgating space for Homecoming on Nov. 2 for non-season ticket holders is $175.
Included in either single-game or season passes for non-season ticket holders are two game tickets and one vehicle parking space.
To purchase a tailgating space beginning July 1, call (757) 823-8152 Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Spaces can also be purchased by mailing the tailgating reservation form and a signed copy of the tailgating policies and procedures agreement contract to the address shown. The agreement contract can be found on the last page of the tailgating manual. Those forms will be available on the NSU Athletics website beginning July 1.

Tailgating spaces this year will again be located in three places. A total of 48 spots will be available in the grass area on the band practice field, across the street from the NSU Tennis Complex. There will also be spaces available on the basketball courts between the west end of the stadium and
Marty L. Miller Baseball Field, as well as down the right field line of the baseball field. NSU Athletic Foundation members will also have access to the grass area behind the center field fence at baseball.
In addition, RV spaces are also available for the 2019 season. For season ticket holders, single game tailgating passes, excluding Homecoming, are $150, and season passes are $725. An RV space for Homecoming only for season ticket holders is $200.
Cost for non-season ticket holders is $175 for a single game, excluding Homecoming, and $825 for a season pass. An RV space for Homecoming only for non-season ticket holders is $225. The prices for non-season ticket holders include two game tickets. RV parking will be located next to the Facilities Management Building.
This year's home football schedule begins on Sept. 7 against Virginia State at 6 p.m. NSU will play Florida A&M on Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. and host North Carolina A&T a week later on Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. Homecoming is set for 2 p.m. on Nov. 2 against Morgan State, and NSU wraps up its regular season on Nov. 23 against South Carolina State at 1 p.m. Gates open two hours before the start of each game.
Tailgating lots will be open four hours prior to the games on Sept. 28, Oct. 5 and Nov. 23. Tailgating lots will open at 10 a.m. against Virginia State on Sept. 7 and 9 a.m. for Homecoming on Nov. 2. Lots will close two hours after the conclusion of each game.
All individuals who enter tailgating areas must have a game ticket. No vehicles will be permitted onto the tailgating lots two hours or less prior to game time.
Aside from the one parking spot per tailgating space, any additional parking spaces can be purchased in Lot #14, located behind the NSU police station, for $5 on game day. Season parking passes, which can be purchased in advance of game day, will also be available for Lot #14 for $25 at the NSU Ticket Center later in August.
