O’Quinn Named to Lou Henson All-Decade Team

| By:
NORFOLK, Va. – Former Norfolk State standout Kyle O'Quinn was voted to the Lou Henson All-Decade Team, consisting of 40 of the top players who competed for mid-major basketball programs from 2019-2019.

The team was announced earlier this week by CollegeInsider.com as the 2010 decade came to a close. The organization announces a Lou Henson All-America Team each year to honor mid-major players, in addition to the Lou Henson Award given to the top mid-major player in the country.

Voting for the all-decade team was done by various Division I head coaches, athletic directors and members of the College Insider staff. O'Quinn was the only MEAC and HBCU player named to the team.

His career at NSU spanned from 2008-12, but O'Quinn did plenty of damage during the 2010 decade. He was a three-time All-MEAC honoree, including first team in 2011 and 2012. He earned the MEAC Defensive Player of the Year Award those final two seasons, as well as the Player of the Year Award in 2012.

O'Quinn led NSU to the MEAC title in 2012 and an upset of No. 2 seed Missouri in the NCAA Tournament. He later went on to win the MVP Award at the Portsmouth Invitational before embarking on a current eight-year career in the NBA.
