NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State women's basketball team claimed its second straight MEAC Defensive Player of the Week award Tuesday, as senior guard
Camille Downs won the honor.
Downs recorded a season-high six steals in Sunday's game at Old Dominion, matching her career high from her time at UNCW. As a team, the Spartans forced the Monarchs into 31 turnovers, 18 coming via steals.
Downs has 10 steals in her last two games, and is now ranked fifth in the MEAC with her average of 2.0 thefts per game. Her honor comes one week after forward
Mahoganie Williams won the award.
NSU is back in action this Thursday, hosting UNCW at 6 p.m. at Echols Hall.
