NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's track and field team swept the weekly MEAC awards Wednesday, as
Kai Cole won Track Athlete of the Week and
Jahquan Christopher was chosen Field Athlete of the Week.
Cole won the 200-meter dash at the second annual
Kenneth Giles Invitation last weekend. Cole registered a personal-best time of 20.93 seconds, which ranks as the top time in the conference this year. This is Cole's third time winning the weekly honor this indoor season.
Christopher amassed a school-record 4,545 points in winning the heptathlon over the weekend. He won five of the seven events to surpass the previous school record by 100 points.
The Spartans next compete at the MEAC Indoor Championships Feb. 21-23 in Virginia Beach, Va.
