Mahoganie Williams was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Williams, a junior from Monroe, La., averaged 3.0 blocks per game in victories over Chicago State, Maryland Eastern Shore and Delaware State. She had a pair of blocked shots each in the non-conference rout of Chicago State and NSU's MEAC opener against Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday. On Monday night, Williams blocked a season-high five shots in the Spartans' 40-26 road win against Delaware State.
Norfolk State returns to action on Saturday at Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall on Saturday against Howard. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
