NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State football team nearly swept Mid-Eastern Conference (MEAC) accolades this week, earning four honors in total, the conference announced on Tuesday morning.

The recognitions come after the Spartans' 24-17 loss at Tennessee State on Saturday, in which the Spartans erased a 17-0 deficit to tie the game, before the Tigers scored a game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Quarterback
Otto Kuhns was named MEAC Offensive Player of the Week, completing 10-of-27 passes for 129 yards and rushing 12 times for 36 yards with two touchdowns against TSU. It marked the first game of his career with two rushing scores.

Linebacker A.J. Richardson was named MEAC Defensive Player of the Week, tallying a career-high 11 tackles including 10 solo tackles and one tackle for loss.

Center
Garrison Wheatley was named MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Week, anchoring the Spartans' offensive line that accounted for 279 yards of total offense, including 150 yards on the ground.

Punter
Noah Tracey was named MEAC Specialist of the Week, punting six times for 229 yards against TSU, a 38.2 average. Only one punt was ruled a touchback, and one punt was downed inside the 20-yard line.
