Amal Gati has gotten her collegiate career off to a phenomenal start, earning her first MEAC Rookie of the Week honor on Wednesday afternoon.

Playing in the first dual match of her college career, Gati went 2-0 against William & Mary, the defending CAA Champion. Gati earned a No. 2 doubles victory alongside teammate
Breana Cook 7-6, as the Spartans nearly nabbed the opening point of the evening.

Gati carried the momentum into singles, defeating Yaelle Vaissaud 7-5, 6-4 at the No. 6 position. The Spartans nearly pulled off the upset over the Tribe, falling 4-3 on the road to start the 2022-23 campaign.
