NORFOLK, Va. | The Norfolk State University women's basketball team entered the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll on Wednesday, with the Spartans coming in at No 24 ahead of their NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament opening-round game on Friday at South Carolina.

Norfolk State (26-6) climbed into the poll after winning the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) regular and tournament titles. The Spartans' conference tournament victory, the first for the program in 21 years, gave the school the automatic qualifier from the MEAC for this weekend's opening-round NCAA tournament game.

NSU received the No. 16 in the Columbia Regional and will face overall top seed South Carolina in the first round. The Gamecocks come into the tournament game 32-0 and are the defending national champions.

Fans can purchase tickets through the
Norfolk State Ticket Office. Each ticket is priced at $20 and is for general admission seating.
