NORFOLK, Va. - The 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District ® Softball Teams were announced on Tuesday afternoon, May 16, following the conclusion of the regular season. Making the list and representing the Spartans were five young women who have helped build the Spartan Softball program up over the last several years.
Representing Norfolk State University on the CSC Academic All-District ® Softball Teams are
Cam Andersen,
Yrral Davis,
Kenna Higa,
Alexis Robinson, and
Gabby Vaughan. All five ladies were named to the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) All-Academic team early last week and are regular members on the Athletic Directors Honor Roll.
In order to be nominated for Academic All-District ®, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games and they must have completed one full calendar year at her current institution and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Currently, CSC sponsors Academic All-America® programs for men's soccer, women's soccer, football, volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's swimming & diving, women's swimming & diving, men's tennis, women's tennis, baseball, softball and men's and women's track and field/cross country, as well as an at-large category for other sports.
Academic All‐District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America® ballot. First‐, second-, and third‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced June 6. The CSC Academic All‐District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.
