EARLYSVILLE, Va. --- Freshman
Yvone Sandui clocked a 6k time of 21:33.10 to place 28th, leading the Norfolk State women's cross-country team to a 10th place finish at the Panorama Farms Invite Saturday morning.
No. 20 Virginia won the 14-team event with 17 points. NSU placed 28-51-55-70-100-177 for 253 points.
Senior
Mercyline Kimaiyo posted a time of 22:04.90, placing 51st while sophomore
Sonia Koech finished in 55th place (22:11.90).
Leanna Lewis took 70th place (22:28.60), while
Abigael Chebet rounded out the Spartans' five scores, clocking a time of 23:22.20 to place 100th.
Junior
Emani Thompson posted a strong performance, finishing the course with a time of 24:14.50 to place 117th.
Norfolk State will next compete in Smyrna, Del. on Oct. 26th at the MEAC Championships.
