NORFOLK, Va. --- Norfolk State guard
Jasha Clinton has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday evening.
The Virginia Beach native averaged 20.0 points per game last week, helping the Spartans open the season with a 2-1 record.
Clinton scored a team-high 16 points in the season opener at nationally ranked Ole Miss, shooting 6-of-10 (60 percent) from the field while adding three steals, two rebounds, and one assist.
She followed with a season-high 23 points against the District of Columbia, recording a career-high nine steals to go with four assists, three rebounds, and one block as the Spartans secured their first win of the year.
Clinton closed the week with 21 points, six steals, four rebounds, three assists, and one block in Norfolk State's victory over Virginia State.
Norfolk State returns to action on Wednesday, Nov. 10, when the Spartans travel to No. 15 Duke for a 7 p.m. tipoff at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C.
