NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk State women's basketball team looks to get back in the win column on Friday, Nov. 21, when it hosts longtime rival Hampton in the 102nd meeting between the programs at Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall.

Norfolk State and Hampton renew a series that has spanned five decades, with Hampton holding a 59-42 all-time advantage. The Spartans won last year's meeting on the road and enter Friday's game having claimed six of the last 10 matchups.

SCOUTING THE PIRATES
Hampton arrives in Norfolk with a 1-2 record after a 55-35 loss to Gardner-Webb. The Pirates lead the CAA in scoring defense, allowing just 51 points per game, and generate significant pressure by forcing 26 turnovers per contest.

Kiki McElarth leads Hampton with 13.7 points per game, while Taylor Gibson also scores in double figures.

SPARTANS IN THE MEAC
Norfolk State continues to rank among the league's most disruptive defensive teams, leading the MEAC in blocks (23) and sitting second in total steals (83). The Spartans also rank second in free-throw shooting at 73.5 percent.

Clinton paces the conference with 25 total steals and 4.2 steals per game while ranking second in scoring at 14.8 points per contest. Senior forward
Carmen Kweti adds 6.3 rebounds per game, ranking eighth in the league.

PROTECTING OUR HOUSE
Echols Hall remains one of the toughest environments in the country. Norfolk State enters the Hampton matchup riding a 28-game home winning streak, the longest active streak in NCAA Division I. The Spartans went 13-0 at home last season, marking their second straight unbeaten year in Echols Hall.

Over the last five seasons, NSU has gone 60-10 on its home floor and was one of only two HBCUs to finish last season undefeated at home.
