NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's basketball team returns from a nearly two-week long break for a pair of conference matchups this weekend.

The Spartans (16-8, 6-1 MEAC) head to Princess Anne, Md. for a 4 p.m. Saturday showdown at Maryland Eastern Shore (4-19, 0-7), before going back to the warm confines of Joseph Echols Hall to play Delaware State (12-10, 4-3) at 8 p.m. on Monday night.

Norfolk State came out victorious last week in one of the most thrilling regular season games that Spartan fans have ever seen at Echols Hall. Norfolk State defeated North Carolina Central 81-78 on a one-footed buzzer beater by Brian Moore Jr. near the half court logo.

Moore finished the game with 19 points, shooting 6-of-10 from the floor. The Spartans faced a double-digit deficit (70-60) with seven minutes remaining, before storming back to finish the game on a 21-8 run.

Maryland Eastern Shore has struggled in conference play thus far, still looking for its first league win of the 2024-25 campaign. The Hawks dropped a tough home contest last week against Coppin State, 62-57, before suffering a 20-point loss to Howard on Monday.

Ketron Shaw leads the Hawks with 18.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, shooting 45.1 percent from the floor.

Norfolk State earned a shorthanded, gritty victory on the road against Delaware State just over a month ago. Playing without senior guard Christian Ings – and Moore hobbled by injury – Jalen Myers scored 20 points to lead the Spartans past the Hornets, 73-64.

Saturday's game will air on Delmarva Sports Network, with radio coverage available on WNSB 91.1 FM. Monday will mark "Health Awareness Night" at Echols Hall, streamed on ESPN+.
