BOSTON, Mass. ---- The Norfolk State women's basketball team received the No. 6 ranking in the latest College Insider Mid Major Women's Basketball Top 25 poll.  This week's ranking marks NSU's highest ranking in the poll this year.

NSU earned the No. 6 ranking following a pair of wins against Coppin State (76-54) and Morgan State (90-46). 
 
In its 15th season of existence, the mid-major poll recognizes the top teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Coastal Athletic, Conference USA, Horizon, Independent, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, Western Athletic.  
 
The Spartans return to action at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 1st at South Carolina State.
