SAN ANTONIO, Texas --- Norfolk State women's basketball teammates Diamond Johnson and Makoye Diawara will take the floor at least once more after the 2024-25 season concludes.
 
Johnson and Diawara earned a spot on the inaugural HBCU Women's All-Star game, announced by HBCU All-Star's foundation on Monday night. Both players will represent team Yolanda Laney at the event.
 
The HBCU All Star Game brings together some of the nation's top senior basketball players at Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The game's mission is to uplift and support HBCU students and athletes by highlighting athletic achievement, elevating visibility, inspiring future generations, and giving back.
 
Johnson has put together a stellar season for the Spartans, averaging 19.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 3.6 steals per game. Johnson has also been named to two prestigious post season award watchlists: The Dawn Staley Award and Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year.  
 
Diawara started 33 of NSU's 34 games this season, averaging 6.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. She scored a season high 16 points while grabbing seven rebounds in a win against Delaware State, producing a double-double against William & Mary with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
 
The inaugural HBCU Women's All-Star Game takes place on Sunday, Apr. 6 at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas at 3:30 p.m. EST on the CW Network.
