NORFOLK, Va. --- Norfolk State women's basketball head coach Jermaine Woods has added former North Florida guard Jazmine Spencer, his first signee at Norfolk State.

A key contributor to the starting lineup, Spencer produced three 20-point outings, including a season high 26-point performance against Central Arkansas.

Prior to North Florida, Spencer spent one year at Jacksonville State, where she averaged 5.3 points per game. She shot 32 percent from behind the arc and 87 percent at the charity stripe while at JSU.

Spencer started her career at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Fla. where she was an NJCAA Division I All-America Honorable selection, becoming the first in the program's history. She averaged 26.3 points per game which included an HCC single-game record of 50 points.

Norfolk State comes off a historic season, winning a third consecutive MEAC Tournament Championship. The Spartans made their fourth-ever trip appearance in the NCAA Tournament, earning a No. 13 seed, marking the program's highest seeding in the tournament.
