Jones Signs Former UNCW Guard Elijah Jamison

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State men's basketball head coach Robert Jones continues to stack his team's backcourt, signing former UNC Wilmington guard Elijah Jamison on Monday.

A 6-3 guard from Louisburg, N.C., Jamison brings an intriguing mixture of scoring and defensive abilities to the Spartans' 2025-26 roster.

Jamison played four games for the Seahawks last season, putting up strong production in his limited opportunities. The third-year guard averaged 9.0 points per game, shooting 3-of-6 (50.0 percent) from behind the arc.

Prior to his time at UNCW, Jamison excelled for two years competing in the Horizon League with Milwaukee. He averaged 8.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game as a sophomore, scoring a season-high 16 points against Southern Mississippi.

Jamison showed immense poise in his first year, picking up Horizon League All-Freshman Team honors while averaging 7.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. The talented guard made 24 starts, the most by a Milwaukee true freshman since the 2016-17 campaign. His best game of the season came against North Park, scoring a career-best 19 points with six assists and four 3-pointers.

A prestigious recruit out of Liberty Heights High School, Jamison finished fifth on North Carolina's all-time scoring list with over 2,600 career points. He helped his team to a 30-3 overall campaign as a senior, earning offers from the likes of Wichita State, Elon, and Eastern Carolina.

A standout student since high school, Jamison earned Academic All-State honors while at Liberty Heights.

Norfolk State comes off another historic season, winning the 2024-25 MEAC Tournament and Regular Season Championships. The Spartans made their fourth-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament, with three coming during Jones' time at the helm.
