NORFOLK, Va. – Robert Jones continues to strengthen the Norfolk State men's basketball program with the addition of a high-flying guard/forward combo in Jahki Gupton to the 2026-27 roster.
A 6-foot-7 forward, Gupton brings experience and production from both the Division I and junior college levels. Most recently at Saint Peter's, he averaged 7.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game during the 2025-26 season, impacting the game across multiple areas. He recorded a season-high 17 points at Quinnipiac, grabbed 10 rebounds at Mount St. Mary's, and logged a 40-minute performance at Iona with three assists and three blocks.
Gupton also showcased his versatility offensively and defensively, knocking down a season-best three triples against Manhattan, converting six free throws against Siena, and recording a four-steal effort at Georgetown.
Prior to his time at Saint Peter's, Gupton starred at Howard College, where he emerged as one of the top JUCO prospects in the country, ranking No. 92 in the 2025 JUCO Top 100. He averaged 10.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, adding 32 steals and 24 blocks. Gupton scored in double figures in 17 games, including a career-high 21 points against South Plains College.
With his size, versatility, and defensive presence, Gupton projects as a dynamic wing who can score, rebound, and defend at a high level.
