Jones Adds Transfer Guard Chris Walker to Norfolk State Men’s Basketball Roster

NORFOLK, Va. – Robert Jones continues to strengthen the Norfolk State men's basketball roster with the addition of transfer guard Chris Walker.

A 6-foot-6, 195-pound swingman, Walker brings size, versatility, and proven Division I production to the Spartans after competing at Little Rock and Binghamton. Over his collegiate career, he has appeared in 78 games, totaling 664 points while averaging 8.5 points per contest.

Walker is coming off a breakout 2024-25 season at Binghamton, where he started 25 of 32 games and averaged a career-best 11.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 43.3 percent from three-point range. He connected on 55 three-pointers and scored in double figures 23 times, including four 20-point performances.

He delivered several standout performances throughout the season, highlighted by a career-high 30-point outing against Le Moyne. Walker also posted 22 points against Lancaster Bible and 21 against UMBC, while contributing across the board with a 16-point, eight-rebound, four-assist effort against Niagara and a nine-rebound performance against NJIT.

Across his two seasons with the Bearcats, Walker appeared in all 62 games, making 25 starts, and averaged 8.9 points and 3.6 rebounds per game while shooting 36.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Walker began his collegiate career at Little Rock, earning Ohio Valley Conference Freshman of the Week honors twice while averaging 7.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. He recorded five double-digit scoring performances, including a season-high 18 points at Memphis.

"Chris adds great positional size as a 6-foot-6 guard," said Jones. "Shooting 43 percent from three at Binghamton, he gives us a true perimeter threat, and his 11.6 points per game show he's a proven scorer at the mid-major level. We're excited about what he'll bring to the Green and Gold and look for him to have a good season as a Spartan."

A highly regarded prep prospect, Walker was a McDonald's All-American Game nominee at Wellington Christian School (Fla.), where he averaged 21.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game as a senior and helped lead his team to the Florida Class 7A state finals.
