BOSTON, Mass. --- The Norfolk State women's basketball team concluded the 2024-25 season ranked No. 4 in the final College Insider Mid-Major Top 25 poll, released by the organization on Tuesday evening.

The recognition tied the highest mark in the Spartans' program history.

In its 15th season of existence, the mid-major poll recognizes the top teams from the following conferences: America East, Atlantic Sun, Big Sky, Big South, Big West, Coastal Athletic, Conference USA, Horizon, Independent, Ivy, Metro Atlantic, Mid-American, Mid-Eastern, Missouri Valley, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot, Southern, Southland, Southwestern, Summit, Sun Belt, West Coast, Western Athletic. Â

The Spartans produced their winningest Division I season, going 30-5 on the year with a perfect 14-0 MEAC campaign. NSU captured both the MEAC Regular Season and Tournament championships, securing the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.

Norfolk State took down Howard 68-56 in the MEAC Tournament title game, securing its third consecutive MEAC Championship. Senior forward
Kierra Wheeler was named the 2025 MEAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, while Larry Vickers received Most Outstanding Coach honors.
