NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State football team signed a former three-star recruit on Saturday afternoon, picking up West Georgia transfer DeAndre Jones.

A defensive tackle from Douglasville, Ga., Jones comes to Norfolk State after spending one season with the Wolves. He recorded all three of his season's tackles against Abilene Christian, recovering a fumble as well.

Jones started his collegiate career at Chattanooga, redshirting one of his two seasons at the SoCon school.

Earning two first-team all-region selections during his time at New Manchester High School, Jones was rated as a three-star prospect by 247sports.com and two-star by rivals.com. He recorded 52 tackles with 17 tackles for loss (6.0 sacks) over his last two campaigns.

Norfolk State opens the 2025 season at home against Towson on Aug. 28.
