NORFOLK, Va. --- Norfolk State women's basketball head coach Jermaine Woods announced the addition of Penn transfer and former McDonald's All-American nominee Iyanna Rogers on Thursday evening.

Rogers, a 6-2 forward, appeared in 15 games during the 2023-24 season before an injury sidelined her for the 2024-25 campaign. She shot 53.8 percent from the floor and 50 percent from 3-point range as a junior, including a season-high 12 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks on a 6-of-8 shooting performance against Gwynedd Mercy.

As a freshman at Penn, Rogers played in 11 games, totaling 16 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, and three steals. She tallied a season-best 10 points and five rebounds in a matchup with Gwynedd Mercy.

Rogers starred at Highland Springs High School, serving as a two-year team captain. She earned All-Region honors twice, as well as Second-Team All-State and Third-Team All-Metro recognitions.

During her junior year, she recorded 342 points, 196 rebounds, 89 blocks, 61 steals, and 12 assists, earning a three-star rating and a top-60 ranking by ESPN.

Norfolk State comes off a historic season, winning a third consecutive MEAC Tournament Championship. The Spartans made their fourth-ever appearance in the NCAA Tournament, earning a No. 13 seed, marking the program's highest seeding in the tournament.
