Burrus and Allen Named to CSC All-Academic NCAA At-Large Team

NORFOLK, Va. - LaShauna Burrus and Jalaya Allen of the Norfolk State bowling program have earned 2024-25 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Team selections.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. 

To qualify for Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be a sophomore academically and athletically, must carry a 3.50 or higher grade point average and must have met certain participation requirements in the sports of men's and women's bowling, men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, men's volleyball and men's and women's wrestling.

Allen, a senior from Portsmouth, Va., carried a 3.64 grade point average and majored in Information Technology. She averaged 15.89 per frame, totaling 161 strikes in 24 traditional and 18 baker games. 

Burrus, a junior from Norfolk, Va., carried a 4.00 grade point average and majored in Elementary Education (PK-6). Burrus, the NSU Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, averaged 17.22 per frame, totaling 178 strikes in 24 traditional and 18 baker games.
