Anthony McComb III was named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, while freshman guard
Adrean Newton earned Rookie of the Week honors, the league announced Monday afternoon.
McComb powered the Spartans to a road victory over Delaware State, scoring a game-high 23 points in Norfolk State's 66-64 win. He added three rebounds, two assists, and two steals while delivering an ultra-efficient shooting performance, connecting on 7-of-8 attempts from the field, including 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, and 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Newton provided the game's defining moment, scoring the go-ahead basket with 2.8 seconds remaining to seal the victory. The rookie finished the contest with four points, four assists, two rebounds, and one steal.
