Spartans Open MEAC Championship Play Friday

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State women's bowling team turns its focus to the postseason as it prepares to compete in the 2026 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Championship, scheduled for Friday-Sunday, March 20-22, at Triad Lanes in Greensboro, North Carolina.

All eight MEAC programs will compete in the three-day, double-elimination tournament, with preliminary rounds contested using the mega-match format. Sunday's championship match will feature a best-of-seven Baker format to determine the conference champion and the MEAC's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.

Norfolk State enters the championship as the No. 8 seed following a 4-54 overall record and an 0-14 mark in MEAC play. The Spartans will open tournament play against top-seeded North Carolina A&T State at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 20.

With a win, Norfolk State would advance to face the winner of the matchup between No. 4 Morgan State and No. 5 Maryland Eastern Shore. A loss would place the Spartans in the consolation bracket, where they would face the loser of that contest.
