DURHAM, N.C. --- The Norfolk State women's track and field team produced several notable performances at the Duke Invitational on Saturday.
 
Brooklyn Robinson led the Spartans with a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles finals, clocking 13.27 after placing fourth in the prelims (13.32). Asiah Wike delivered a strong showing in the 100 meters, taking fifth overall in 11.89 after running 11.62 in the prelims.
 
Autumn Burrell competed in multiple events, placing 15th in the 100-meter prelims (11.83) and 21st in the 200 meters (24.45). Jada Arrington (56.23) and Payton Drumwright (56.35) finished 20th and 24th, respectively, in the 400 meters. Jahmei Wyatt ran the 800 meters in 2:14.97 while Abigael Chebet clocked 18:11.67 in the 5,000 meters.
 
In the distance events, Sonia Koech led Norfolk State in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a 15th-place time of 11:15.15, followed by Amira Dailey in 27th (12:15.92). The Spartans' 4x100-meter relay team placed seventh with a time of 46.00.
 
In the field events, Essence Shaw cleared 1.63 meters to place 11th in the high jump, while Amanti Mayes recorded a mark of 9.85 meters in the shot put.
 
Norfolk State will return to action next week at a pair of meets. The Spartans will compete at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., and the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va., with both meets set to begin on Friday, Apr. 17.
