NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State's 2026 football matchup at Virginia has been moved to Friday night, Sept. 11, at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Va. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12.
A kickoff time and television designation will be announced at a later date.
The contest will mark the first-ever meeting between the Spartans and the Cavaliers. Norfolk State is 0-1 all-time against Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) opponents, with its previous appearance coming in a 41-16 decision at Wake Forest in 2021.
Norfolk State's 2026 schedule features a balanced slate with six home games and six road contests, including in-state matchups against Old Dominion and Virginia. The Spartans will also host cross-bay rival Hampton on Sept. 19 in the annual "Battle of the Bay."
