NSU Earns 4 Top 15 Finishes at Tribe Open

WILLIAMSBURG, Va.
– The Norfolk State cross country teams placed four runners, three men and one woman, in the top 15 of their respective races on Saturday morning at the Tribe Open hosted by William & Mary.

On the men's side, all four Spartans ran season-best times. Dominic Luka (Marietta, N.Y.) ran the MEAC's fastest time this season, covering the 5-mile course in 25 minutes flat. He finished second. Hillary Cheruiyot (Eldoret, Kenya) was one second behind, finishing third in 25:01. Jonathan Soimo (Kapsabet, Kenya) came in ninth place in 25:07.

Keenan Harris (Norfolk, Va.) ran a personal-best time of 26:32.

On the women's side, Jennifer Chichester (Silver Spring, Md.) continued her excellent freshman season by placing 13th overall. She ran the 3.75-mile course in 23:16.

Two other Spartan women finished in the top 50. Tia Miles (Richmond, Va.) was 42nd in 24:44, and Anastacia Limo (Kapsabet, Kenya) was 47th in 24:58.

Both Spartan teams have the week off before competing in the 2007 MEAC Cross Country Championship on Oct. 27 at Mt. Trashmore Park in Virginia Beach.
