LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Norfolk State cross country team capped its 2007 season on Saturday by running at the NCAA Southeast Regional, hosted by the University of Louisville.
Only four Spartans ran, so NSU did not factor into the team score. Three of the four -
Jonathan Soimo (Kapsabet, Kenya),
Dominic Luka (Marietta, N.Y.) and
Hillary Cheruiyot (Eldoret, Kenya) - finished in the top 100 overall in the grueling 10,000 meter race. Soimo led the way by placing 72nd in 31 minutes, 57.5 seconds. Luka, the MEAC individual champion, was next, finishing 89th in 32:19.10. Cheruiyot was third for NSU, finishing 95th in 32:29.10.
Keenan Harris (Norfolk, Va.) placed 182nd overall in 35:39.85.
N.C. State was the regional team champion, accumulating 69 points. Josh McDougal of Liberty was the individual champion, finishing in 29:30.70.
