Match Results

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.
– The NSU men's tennis team wrapped up its 2009 MEAC regular-season slate with a 7-0 loss at Florida A&M on Saturday.

The Spartans (3-6, 0-3) managed to win just two sets from FAMU. Arsenio Culver (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Jonathan Sessom (Houston, Texas) won 8-7 (tiebreaker 7-5) at No. 1 doubles, but the Rattlers rallied to win Nos. 2 and 3 doubles to win the doubles point.

FAMU swept all six singles matches, winning five of them in straight sets. At No. 1 singles, NSU senior Miroslav Vlcek (Vyskov, Czech Republic) won the first set from Artiom Podgainii, 6-2, but lost the second set 6-4 and the tiebreaker 10-7 to drop the closest singles match between the teams.

NSU returns to action this Saturday at Virginia State.
