NORFOLK, Va. – Because of the threat of Hurricane Sandy affecting the Tidewater area, Sunday's competition for both the Norfolk State bowling and volleyball teams has been cancelled.
The bowling team was set to host the three-day Hampton Roads Invitational at the AMF Lanes in Chesapeake from Friday through Sunday. The tournament will now finish up on Saturday with both team play as well as the bracket part of the competition that was originally set for Sunday.
Team play competition is expected to finish up around 1 or 2 p.m. on Saturday, with the bracket rounds set to be completed around 5 or 6 p.m.
The volleyball team was scheduled to face Coppin State on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Joseph Echols Hall. That conference match between the Northern Division rivals will be made up at a later date.
All school activities, including classes, have been cancelled through Tuesday.
