SERIES NOTES
NSU leads the series with Delaware State 27-21. The Hornets have won the last three games in the series, dating to a 72-61 Spartan victory in Norfolk on Jan. 17, 2009. DSU has also won six in a row against the Spartans in Dover since NSU's 82-80 triumph on Jan. 26, 2004.
RECAPPING COPPIN STATE
Additional notes from NSU's loss to Coppin State on Monday:
• NSU was held to a season-low 13 points on 15 percent shooting in the first half, then scored a season-high 69 second-half points to make it a close game.
• Coppin State shot 55 percent, best by a Spartan opponent this season.
• Kyle O'Quinn grabbed 18 rebounds, one shy of his career high, to move into eighth place in NSU history in rebounds, with 965. He passed Bob Isabelle (951) on Monday.
• O'Quinn (27 points) and
Chris McEachin (17) led NSU in scoring, and both players scored all their points in the second half.
• NSU matched its season high by placing five players in double figures.
• NSU missed its first 18 shots and went more than 11 minutes before making a field goal.
1,000/1,000 CLUB
#Kyle O'Quinn# is just 35 rebounds away from joining an exclusive club at NSU: the 1,000-point/1,000-rebound club. Just six players in NSU history have scored 1,000 career points
and grabbed at least 1,000 career rebounds, and none since
Derrick Bryant (1992-95). O'Quinn would be the fi rst in NSU's Division I era.
