NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State women's cross country team will travel to Princess Anne, Md., on Saturday to compete at the 2013 MEAC Championship.
The Spartans recently finished third overall at the Christopher Newport Invitational on Oct. 19. Junior Fiona Masai led all NSU runners with a season-best 6K time of 23:02.60 to finish third.
In 5K races this season, Masai currently ranks 14th in the MEAC with her top time of 19:08.40. Teammate Faith Summey is 11th with a time of 19:00.90.
NSU won its first ever MEAC title in 2009.
The MEAC Championship will be held at the UMES Cross Country Course, with the 5K race set to begin at 9:45 a.m.
