PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The Norfolk State women's cross-country team opened its season on Saturday with a first-place finish at the UMES Season Opener.
The Spartans scored 38 points with finishes of 1-2-8-12-15.
Sonia Koech won the race in 16:06.19, followed by
Abigael Chebet in second at 16:14.87.
Amira Dailey added a top-10 finish, placing eighth in 17:37.28.
Jahmei Wyatt crossed 12th in 18:07.00, and
Moamiky Kenneh placed 15th in 18:59.05.
Norfolk State competes again Sept. 12 at the UVA Invite in Charlottesville, Va.
