NSU Set to Face Randolph-Macon, Virginia Wesleyan this Weekend

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team will take on Randolph-Macon and Virginia Wesleyan over the weekend. Also, the NSU tennis program will host a kids clinic prior to the match against Randolph-Macon. The clinic is open to the community from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. Admission is free.

The match between NSU and R-MC will now start at 1:30 p.m. at the NSU Tennis Complex in Norfolk, Va. 

NSU (11-8) suffered a 5-2 loss to Richmond on Sunday at the NSU Tennis Complex. MEAC Player of the Week Daniel Grauel claimed the Spartans' only win in singles play with a 6-3, 6-4 win against Baker in match No. 6. NSU won the doubles point in their match against the Spiders. In match one, Peter Ramstromer-Pello and Dzmitry Zyhmantovich defeated Ethan Dunbar and Sebastien Fauchet, 8-2. Igor Braga and Robin Riethmueller, who was named the MEAC Rookie of the Week, claimed an 8-4 victory over Paul Nahon III and Jesse Feder in match two. Grauel and Samuel Lemberger were leading Dylan Trent and Justin Baker, 6-2, before the match was abandoned.

R-MC (8-11) defeated Hampden-Sydney, 7-2, on Thursday at the Randolph-Macon Tennis Complex in Ashland, Va.

Virginia Wesleyan (8-10) posted a 7-2 win against Roanoke on Saturday at the Everett Tennis Center in Virginia Beach, Va.

The Spartans will face Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday at the Everett Tennis. Play begins at 9 a.m.
