Spartans Hit the Road to Face VCU on Thursday

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team is looking for its fourth-straight win of the season as the Spartans hit the road to face VCU on Thursday. The match between NSU and VCU was originally scheduled for March 23, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

NSU (8-5) is coming off of a 5-0 win against Maryland Eastern Shore on Friday at the Everett Tennis Center on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan in Virginia Beach, Va. Sophomore Dzmitry Zyhmantovich improved to 11-2 in singles competition after he posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Wirlen Elame. Senior Peter Ramstromer-Pello also picked up a win in singles play against the Hawks to move to 9-4 on the season.

VCU (12-9) suffered a 4-3 loss to UNC Wilmington on Friday at the Thalhimer Tennis Center in Richmond, Va.  Senior Alejandro Argente, sophomore Michal Voscek and freshman Jean-Baptiste Mateo each picked up wins in singles play for the Rams.

Play begins at 2 p.m. at the Thalhimer Tennis Center.
