NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State senior linebacker Lynden Trail (Miami, Fla.) was named the College Football Performance Awards FCS National Defensive Performer and Linebacker of the Week and the Batchelor Pad's HBCU Defensive Player of the Week, the two organizations announced.

Trail tallied eight tackles, including four for loss with 1.5 sacks, in NSU's 10-6 loss at No. 25 Maine last Saturday. He added two forced fumbles, two pass breakups and one fumble recovery for NSU, which held the defending CAA champion Black Bears to just 187 yards of total offense.

Trail's four TFL and two forced fumbles were tied for the most in the nation among FCS players last week.
