Desmond Fogg ran a personal-best 8K time of 26 minutes, 52.85 seconds to help the Norfolk State men's cross country team to a second-place finish at the Cappy Anderson Invitational hosted by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday morning.
Fogg was the Spartans' highest finisher, placing fourth overall. The fourth-place finish is also the best of Fogg's career.
The Spartans tallied 49 points, second only to UMES' 21.

Damtew Adnew and sophomore
Sammy Kiptoo also recorded top-10 finishes Saturday. Adnew placed eighth overall (27:51.54) and Kiptoo was ninth (27:54.52).

Nathnael Meseret (28:31.19) and sophomore
David Kibet (29:12.48) rounded out the Spartans' top five, finishing 13th and 15th, respectively.
NSU has next week off before returning to action on Friday, Oct. 3 at the Delaware State Hornet Invitational in Dover, Del.
