Spartans Sit 20th in Latest NTCA Poll

November NTCA Poll

NORFOLK
, Va. – The Norfolk State bowling team ranks 20th in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association poll released earlier this month.

The Spartans received 144 points in the voting for the November poll, just behind No. 19 Prairie View A&M (154 points) but ahead of No. 21 Tulane (120 points).

This year's poll now includes the top 25 teams after previously ranking just the top 20. The poll only included results from NSU's first tournament in late October, the Hampton Roads Invitational.

Other MEAC schools ranked include No. 10 Delaware State, No. 11 North Carolina A&T and No. 12 UMES. Arkansas State received 12 of a possible 28 first-place votes to finish in the top spot, while Fairleigh Dickinson, Vanderbilt and Nebraska also garnered first-place votes and rounded out the top 4.

NSU will compete at the second MEAC Southern Divisional of the year this Saturday and Sunday and hosted by Bethune-Cookman. The Spartans currently own a 19-12 overall record and a 6-2 MEAC mark.
