MEAC Indoor Track - Day 2 Results
LANDOVER, Md. – Freshman
Martha Bissah made her conference championship debut a successful one, as she won the 800 meters and ran the anchor leg on the gold medal-winning distance medley relay team during second-day action at the MEAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex.

The Spartan women sit in fifth place with one day to go at the conference championship. NSU has 28 points, while Florida A&M leads with 55. North Carolina A&T (39), Hampton (36.5) and Morgan State (29) are second through fourth, respectively.

Bissah, the favorite in the 800, clocked a time of 2 minutes, 11.04 seconds to pull away for the win. A few hours later, she ran the 800m leg on NSU's winning distance medley relay team. Bissah and teammates

Chazmin Fullwood posted a time of 12:02.49, easily winning the race by some 13 seconds ahead of FAMU.

NSU also picked up points on Friday from junior
Brianna Hayes, who placed fourth in the high jump (5 feet, 4.5 inches), and Higgins, a junior who claimed sixth in the 800m (2:14.63).

Earlier on Friday, sophomore
Taejah Robertson clocked a PR in the 60-meter hurdles. Robertson posted a time of 8.68 seconds, qualifying her for the finals in that event on Saturday.

Saturday's final day of competition gets underway at 9:30 a.m. with the women's pole vault. Running event finals begin at 1 p.m. with the women's mile. ESPN3 will broadcast the afternoon action live beginning at 1 p.m.
