NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Michael-Thomas Brown placed in the top five in three different events Saturday as the NSU men's track and field team competed in its final regular season indoor meet, the Vince Brown Invitational hosted by Christopher Newport.
Brown placed second in the 60 meters (6.90), third in the 200 (22.58) and fifth in the long jump (22 feet, 2.5 inches) as the Spartan men accumulated 17 top-five finishes at the meet, which served as the Spartans' last competition before the MEAC Indoor Championships.
Two other Spartans also earned multiple top-five finishes at the meet. Freshman
Jaylen Banks won the 400 meters (50.10 seconds) and took third in the triple jump (45-3), while junior
